The Tire Change Process

Understanding each step helps you know what to expect and how long each phase takes.

01

Safety Setup (2-5 min)

Park on flat ground, engage parking brake, turn on hazards. Place wheel wedges and gather tools from trunk.

02

Loosen Lug Nuts (1-3 min)

While tire is still on ground, loosen each lug nut about one turn using the lug wrench. Don’t remove completely yet.

03

Jack Up Vehicle (2-4 min)

Position jack under vehicle frame at proper lift point. Raise vehicle until flat tire is about 6 inches off ground.

04

Remove & Replace Tire (3-5 min)

Remove lug nuts completely, pull off flat tire, mount spare tire aligning holes, hand-tighten lug nuts in star pattern.

05

Lower & Tighten (2-3 min)

Lower vehicle until tire touches ground. Fully tighten lug nuts in star pattern. Lower completely and remove jack.

06

Final Check & Cleanup (2-3 min)

Verify all lug nuts are tight, check tire pressure, stow flat tire and tools. Drive to Race Track for professional inspection.
