What We Fix Most Often

These are the Ford problems we see regularly in Houston. We know them well.

air

EcoBoost Carbon Buildup

Direct injection EcoBoost engines develop carbon deposits on intake valves. We perform walnut blasting to restore power and efficiency.

water_drop

Coolant Intrusion (EcoBoost)

Some EcoBoost engines have known coolant intrusion issues. Early detection prevents expensive engine damage.

settings

Transmission Shudder

Ford 10-speed and older 6-speed transmissions can develop shudder issues. Often solved with proper fluid service.

How Houston Affects Your Ford

whatshot

EcoBoost Heat Soak

Houston heat causes intercooler heat soak, reducing EcoBoost performance. Turbos and related components work harder in our climate.

traffic

Transmission Stress

Stop-and-go Houston traffic with AC running stresses Ford transmissions. Regular fluid service is critical here.

thermostat

Cooling System Strain

Houston summers push cooling systems hard. Water pumps, thermostats, and radiators fail faster in our heat.

construction

Truck Suspension Wear

Houston roads and construction zones beat up F-150 and Super Duty suspension. Ball joints and shocks need regular inspection.

Your Ford deserves care from technicians who understand Houston conditions.

FAQ

Common Questions

Answers about Ford service and repair.

Will service at your shop void my Ford warranty?
expand_more
No. Federal law (Magnuson-Moss Act) protects your right to use independent shops. As long as we use quality parts and proper procedures—which we do—your warranty remains valid. We can provide documentation if needed.
Do you use Motorcraft parts?
expand_more
We offer both Motorcraft OEM parts and quality OE-equivalent parts. For some applications, Motorcraft is the best choice. For others, equivalent parts work just as well at lower cost. We’ll discuss options and you decide.
My EcoBoost is using oil—is that normal?
expand_more
Some oil consumption is normal for turbocharged engines, but excessive consumption isn’t. If you’re adding more than a quart between changes, bring it in. It could be PCV issues, turbo seals, or other problems we can diagnose.
How often should I service my Ford transmission?
expand_more
Ford often says “lifetime fluid,” but that’s optimistic—especially in Houston. We recommend transmission fluid service every 60,000 miles, or sooner if you tow or drive in heavy traffic. Prevention is cheaper than transmission replacement.
Can you work on diesel Fords (PowerStroke)?
expand_more
Yes, we service PowerStroke diesels including 6.0L, 6.7L, and 7.3L engines. We handle injector issues, turbo problems, DEF systems, and routine maintenance. Call for diesel-specific questions.
What’s the cam phaser noise on my 5.0L?
expand_more
That startup rattle or ticking is likely worn cam phasers—a known issue on Coyote 5.0L engines. It’s repairable, and catching it early prevents worse damage. We can diagnose and give you repair options.
